About Andrea

Andrea Edwards is an Integrative psychotherapist who specializes in the field of childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences. For over 15 years, she has provided therapy, training and consultations for families, including children, young people, and parents from diverse backgrounds experiencing various mental health conditions, including childhood trauma. As well as her own lived experiences, Andrea has accumulated experience working in varied services such as the youth offending service, restorative justice service, National health service, private sector, Education, residential and SEN service.

Andrea’s expertise also lies in neuroscience and neurodevelopmental conditions. Over the years, Andrea has seen how trauma experiences have transferred from generation to generation. Intergenerational trauma includes emotional, physical, and psychological harm resulting from adverse experiences such as child abuse, oppression, and neglect, causing lasting effects on individuals and communities and impacting mental health, relationships and overall well-being.

The journey of healing intergenerational trauma is not one of isolation but of unity and compassion. Together, we find strength in our shared experiences, and through understanding and empathy, we create a path towards a brighter and more resilient future.
